Design that helps meaningful work be seen, felt, and trusted.
You already deliver real value. The challenge is making that value visible, felt, and trusted by the people you serve. I partner with organizations and companies that care deeply about impact, ethics, and quality—and need their brand or website to reflect that same level of intention. Through a thoughtful, collaborative process, I help teams articulate what they already believe but haven’t fully named yet. The work translates care, purpose, and expertise into clear visual authority—elevating audience perception to align with the real value and impact you deliver.
Liz Merchant Creative is a founder-led creative studio offering branding, websites, campaigns, and visual systems for organizations doing meaningful work. I work as a strategic designer, bringing experienced creative leadership and assembling the right collaborators when needed to guide projects with clarity.

Creative that feels human.
Craft
Thoughtful design should feel authored by a person. Whether sketching concepts by hand, shaping interaction systems, or refining visual details, I care deeply about creating work that feels alive, intentional, and genuinely connected to the people it’s meant to reach. Efficiency matters — but never at the expense of depth, originality, or outcome.
Approach
I build brands, websites, and campaigns that balance emotional resonance with strategic outcome. My process blends visual storytelling, UX thinking, and systems awareness so the work not only looks distinctive, but functions cohesively across teams, platforms, and real-world use. The goal is never design for design’s sake — it’s creating experiences people can feel, understand, and trust.
Collaboration
The strongest work happens when strategy, design, content, and development inform one another early. With a background spanning branding, campaigns, UX/UI, and agency collaboration, I work fluidly across disciplines — helping teams align ideas, communicate rationale clearly, and move projects forward without losing sight of the people the work is ultimately meant to serve.
About Liz
When I’m not deep in design files, you’ll usually find me sketching portraits, playing guitar, or walking around Baltimore with my dog Levi. Drawing has always been part of how I think—whether it’s character doodles in a notebook or rough sketches that eventually turn into brand ideas. I’m endlessly curious about creative culture and the little things that spark inspiration, from music and animation to classic second-generation Ford Broncos and well-designed sneakers. That same curiosity tends to carry into my work: a mix of thoughtful craft and collaboration.
For those who appreciate simple hand-drawn animal sketches, you'll find some whimsical characters on my @sketches.forjoy Instagram profile. After decades of creating for others, this came from a need to carve out time for art away from the screen. It allows me to use my hands, reconnect with my old love of drawing, and find a natural physical release. But most of all, it gets the characters and stories out of my head.
